WOW! We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely house on the water. We trailered our 24' boat and ventured out daily to: captive island, sanibel island & cabbage key (just to name a few). We saw dolphin, manatee & sting ray. We lots of shelling and saw amazing sunsets. I would highly recommend this rental property. Beautiful home and super clean. 👍👍 Our stay was from 8/7-8/14/2026.
We were able to see so many islands and beaches from this well maintained and equipped house. We cooked out Lobster, snapper, steaks and spent our days island hopping with Dolphin, Rays and Manatee. Awesome time and will certainly return.
Ryan’s place was exactly what we wanted! Peaceful, large private lot. We fully enjoyed all he had to offer. From spending the mornings drinking coffee on the deck watching the swans, to fishing off the dock, to kayaking around the lake. The house was roomier than the listing photos appeared. Plenty of room for our family of 9 to relax and enjoy ourselves without feeling like we were on top of each other. The hammocks were a nice touch as well as use of the floating mat in the garage. Plenty of parking room for our 3 cars. We even had enough space to play pickle ball in the drive. While in town we visited the local hot spots, Whitmore Lake Tavern, Whitmore Lanes and Whitmore Links, along with Dee’s place for ice cream (which we walked to). As soon as we walked in the door, we felt at home and after the 1st day everyone was asking if we could book again for next year. Overall we had a fabulous time.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fish Shack! The location is fantastic and made it easy to enjoy everything the area has to offer. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed, and the boat lift was a huge bonus for being on the water. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful from start to finish, which made the whole experience easy and relaxing. We would absolutely stay here again!
Was a wonderful change of pace from local house for couple week staycay. Best view on the lake. Will miss the swans every morning.

I’ve stayed at a lot of vacation rentals and I have to say this place was one of the most well-stocked properties I’ve ever stayed at. Typically I bring one or two of my own knives because everything is dull and some of my own seasonings. I didn’t have to bring any of that stuff I had all I needed. Great location. We brought our own boat and was able to use the boat lift. I would definitely stay here again.

This lake house was even better than expected. Two nice houses on the property to fit multiple guests comfortably, plenty of towels and linens provided, beautiful lake views, outside dining area with fire pit, four kayaks with launch area, great fishing off the dock, extra supplies in the garage. They thought of everything. Perfectly located in a nice little town, close in proximity to both Ann Arbor and Detroit. The lake is lovely, lots of shallow area, perfectly clear and you can see all the way to the sandy bottom. We had a great time. Hands down the best airbnb I’ve ever rented and I would highly recommend it. I hope to be able to visit again!

Ryan’s place was definitely worth the stay! It felt like we were on our own private island with big trees separating us from other properties. There was enough room to have a few wiffle ball games, and play hide and seek. So much outdoor fun to be had with kayaks, life vests and much more. Also, the fishing was incredible! Thanks for having us and letting us enjoy your home.
Beautiful house with beautiful view, super convenient to Ann Arbor.
This is a well equipped rental. It has very comfortable furniture and beds. You can sit on the sofa and look out at the canal and watch mullets jump, and manatees swim by.
This was a beautiful AirBnB in a great location with easy boat access to the Gulf. We had an awesome time, everything was very clean and fully stocked.
The house was fantastic! Clean and well-equipped. Furniture and linens were fresh and new. Boat lift, heated pool, and ice-maker were all super nice amenities. Enjoyed our 2 week stay.
This property was beyond our expectations. The area was excellent for walking and biking to restaurants. The house was clean and welcoming, it didn't take long to feel at home. The canal offers so much from fishing to seeing manatees up close. We rented a boat for the whole week that we kept at the house on the lift and were able to visit so many different islands and see dolphins and sting rays, the restaurant/bar Mangos on North Captiva is a must visit. We are already in the process of booking our next stay. We absolutely loved it.

This house was nothing short of amazing! Had everything you could ever need. Great location, fabulous communication, extremely clean and up to date.
Highly recommend renting this house! The location on the water at south end of Pine Island exceeded all our expectations. So delightful to sit on the house dock watching the mama manatees with babies and the dolphins right there in the canal. The private boat lift opens up worlds of exploring the bay and gulf and if you fish, its paradise. Bring your own boat or we rented one from the Monroe Marina (nicest people) just up the canal. Loved visiting the beautiful uncrowded North Captiva and Cayo Costa sandbars & beaches that you can't get to by car, as well as docking up at restaurants on Pine Island, Sanibel and Cabbage Key. The house is even nicer than the photos. It's super clean, newly remodeled, well-stocked and in a lovely quiet neighborhood, where you can walk, bike, boat or drive to restaurants (Phuzzy's (live music), Froggy's, Blue Dog (Matlacha) and Cabbage Key Inn). The kitchen has everything you could need including a Keurig and blender. Loved the giant island/table with seating all around it so the “cook” can be part of the fun, too! There are seafood markets nearby with fresh local catch (fish, crabs, shrimp). Master is on separate side from other 2 bedrooms which is a nice layout. Comfy mattress and couches; strong water pressure and good internet. Moveable stools in pool are fun. Well set up for fishers: separate high volume ice maker & cleaning station. Host Ryan was easy to communicate with. We would definitely rent this house again :)

We had an incredible stay! This property is perfect for relaxing after a day out on the boat. The location couldn't have been better. Easy access to great fishing spots and a quick boat ride to Sanibel Island, Captiva, and Fort Myers Beach, we had a new adventure everyday. The house itself was impeccable - clean, new, and well-maintained. The fully stocked kitchen made cooking a breeze, and we appreciated the attention to detail throughout the property. From the comfortable beds to the spacious living room that opens to the lanai, and the pool. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. We arrived to a crisp and clean cozy home. This has a wide open layout with great view of canal and the patio with pool. We also loved the fish decorations. Relaxing in the pool inside the bug free patio was a joy. We rented a boat from the local marina and had it delivered to the boat hoist prior to our arrival. Enjoyed boating to local beaches and to local restaurant on the island. Our children lit up when the manatee family arrived in the canal and also noticed a couple of dolphins one day. We made a few meals with the new appliances and had to do laundry while here. We found that everything worked perfect. Had a few questions for Ryan and he responded very quickly. We will be coming here again...maybe every year. Awesome location, awesome home and awesome support from the owner. You will appreciate being here. Enjoy your trip as we did.

This is our 4th year staying at this cottage. It is by far the best place on the lake. We bring my Mom here every year for a Mother-Daughter weekend and she loves coming back to this tranquil and peaceful place. On a point, with full view, privacy in all directions, and a great indoor and outdoor layout!

This lake house is absolutely beautiful. We celebrated my daughter's graduation from University of Michigan here and spent a week enjoying the beautiful lake and close proximity to local towns like Ann Arbor and Chelsea. It was just a wonderful time and Ryan was a great host. Thank you!
Great location - easy access to restaurants, activities and shopping. Wildlife was fun to observe each morning. Only suggestions - add a full length mirror - maybe inside the closet with vacuum and address slippery shower floor. We hope to return in warmer weather to utilize the lake more.
A group of college friends visited for an annual reunion, first time at this property- but it won't be the last! Beautiful location great view of the lake from both outdoors on the deck and inside from the living areas. In Covid times great place to just hang out
Simple beauty for relaxing and playing.
This property is great for a weekend with family. We brought four teen girls and they loved the privacy of the guest house. We loved that it was easy to check up on them. The house is well stocked for staying in and having fun. It is well maintained and clean. I woke up daily to the gorgeous sunrise over the lake and marveled nightly at the moonrise. We've stayed at this house 3x now and it's the perfect setup in so many ways. It's hard to find a rental that has such a private space and full view on all sides. It also has a deck all the way around to maximize outdoor time whether your lounging or eating meals outside. The guesthouse is perfect for kids or visitors. The paddle boat, kayak and pontoon give plenty of option to hit the lake. And Whitmore even has a few local kitesurfers that are great fun to watch on the water. There is even a cute little local ice cream stand to take a walk to if you want to hit “downtown Whitmore” :) And while you feel a million miles away from city life you are just a short ride to Ann Arbor and Brighton. Highly recommmend and we will be back next year!
What a beautiful location —even in November! The lakeview is stunning, complete with a family of swans that floated by every day. Beds were very comfortable, having 2nd sleeping house was great for when college students needed a quiet place to study. We had a lovely Thanksgiving gathering!
This was the perfect lake house for our family! The water views, the beautiful house, the amenities. The lot is nice and large with plenty of room to play outdoor games. It had everything our family needed. Having the guest house was such a bonus. We will definitely be back!

We had a great time at the lakehouse with my Mom and Sister for a week. The location is amazing with views all around since the house on a point. Very private with tress on both sides. Quiet lake with not too many boats during the week. Few more during the weekend, but still not too crowded. Great outdoor space with the front porch, beach, dock, and firepit - you never even need to leave the house. But if you do - there are cute little places in Brighton or Ann Arbor to check out. Whitmore Lake is a great local area with smiley neighbors, and the local market and tavern - that feels like you are "up north" even though just a few min from Ann Arbor. Highly recommend!
It was the perfect place to relax and re-energize. My husband, three kids and I enjoyed fishing, kayaking, swimming and waking up to the beautiful views of the lake. The proximity to Ann Arbor was an added plus. We had a wonderful time and hope to visit again.
We had an incredibly relaxing week on Whitmore Lake! Our kids (4 & 3) played from sun up until sundown everyday in the nice and sandy shallow water. They also loved fishing off of the dock and watching the grown ups kayak. The house was fully stocked with Towels, Linens and Kitchen Supplies. It was so nice not having to bring all of that stuff with us. Everything was Clean and Comfortable. I loves having multiple washers and dryers. The View has to be the best on the Lake! We will definitely be back!
It was our 3rd time staying at this lake house, and we couldn't be happier. The property is absolutely perfect. My original review (from several years back) was 5-star, and this year did not disappoint! Can't wait to be back next summer!
We spent two weeks at the house and loved it. Our kids played on the beach and in the water from sun up to sun down every day! We pretty much stayed outside the whole time and enjoyed the great Michigan July weather. The deck, yard, beach, dock and fire pit were our living room for two weeks.
Stayed a week and enjoyed the lake from morning to night. Having the kayaks available was wonderful and having a nice shallow sandy area to swim good for little ones. House has all amenities and very clean. Comfy king be in Master.

This was our 3rd year staying there. We just love it. When we walk in the door and we feel like we are home. The view is awesome! Every day you wake up and look out you feel like you are in heaven. There is everything you need. When you are outside on deck or in water you do not see the neighbors. It is so peaceful. There is plenty of room to have family over. Our grandkids love it at the lake house as they call it. We would recommend it.
